Teen Tech Bash
Fourth Fridays Teen Tech Bash is an experimental attempt at creating digital content creators and makers in a collaborative party setting after hours. We created a curriculm designed to promote ideation, collaboration and creativity. We set up stations that guide youth into self directed app, game, web and device creation. Everybody who commits leaves having created something. This is just the beginning with thanks to our sponsor partner Mozilla Hive
* Bash Runs from 10pm- 6 am
* 2-3 instuctors per work station
* Community of volunteers to support
* Music, what’s a party w/o music breaks
* Food and snacks will be served throughout the night.
Program Offering will include:
- Build a Webpage Overnight ( it will be an intro to HTML and CSS with the outcome being a finished webpage that can be built upon)
- Build an App for the Android (this will be an intro into mobile design types of apps, and how to build using App Inventor)
- Intro To Game Design (we will play games and learn what the elements are that go into creating a game. Youth will be exposed to Scratch and Game Maker app to start designs)
- Maker stations (a place to play with circuit boards and other electronics to ideate and create working devices (not available January and February)
- Content Creation Hubs (areas to begin working on creating blogs, videos, podcasts or online shows) A discussion around content creation and then support to create.
